Space Invaders Arcade Game and Parts
Space Invaders was the arcade shooter. The player controlled a canon that shot lasers on the bottom of the screen. The goal was to shoot all the aliens that were on top of the screen before they move to the bottom of the screen and destroy you.
It was one of the first arcade games to be unclocked. The majority of the games prior to Space Invaders had fixed time intervals. The player could only play as long as there was time left in the game. With Space Invaders, the player had three lives and could play as long as it took for those three lives to be spent.
The game was so popular that in Japan, it caused a coin shortage.
