Galaga Arcade Game and Parts
In Galaga, which is the sequel to Galaxian, you play a spaceship that only moves left to right on the bottom of the screen. You shoot at countless aliens that come from from the top of the screen. The aliens come together in formation as they plan their attack. After they make a formation a couple of the aliens break off and attack you like a kamikazes while the others sit back. After all the aliens are shot down, then you move on the next level.
Galaga took a large chunk of its gameplay from Space Invaders. It had the same fixed screen, where you were a spaceship and you could only move left to right and shoot at the aliens that were firing at you from above. But for some reason the game seemed very fresh. Obviously the graphics were better than Space Invaders, But it was more than that. It had this undeniably great "feel" to it. The fire button was incredibly responsive. If you had the quick finger, it felt you were shooting a machine gun.
