Frogger Arcade Game and Parts
When Frogger came out in 1981, it was instant hit. It was a game that was very simple in its gameplay. The controls consisted of a joystick that moved in the standard four directions, left, right, up, and down.
The object was to move the frogs, one by one to their lilypads on top of the screen. In doing so, you have to avoid traffic from cars, jumping on logs and turtle shells, all the meantime avoiding the dangerous hazards of the water. When you can take all 5 frogs to their lilypads, you move on to the next which progressively got tougher.
It was also one of the first games in which a player could die in multiple ways. The frog could be hit by traffic, misses a log and ups in the water, goes off the screen while riding a log or turtle, jumps into the mouth of an alligator and countless more.
The game has spawned countless sequels and imitators, but none have come close to the original.
